The KUL A-CDM implementation project continues at a steady pace! On 25 August 2022, we held our first KUL A-CDM Awareness Seminar at the Gateway ballroom in Sama-Sama Hotel, KLIA.
As part of the outreach programme to project stakeholders, the Awareness Seminar aims to create awareness and enhance participants’ knowledge of A-CDM and the benefits that airport stakeholders stand to gain from the A-CDM implementation.
After the registration and morning snack, the participants filled questionnaire to assess what they know about A-CDM. The session then began with an ice breaking session in which the participants mingled around with each other to team up based on similar interests and values.
After a brief and inspirational introduction by Elmy Fairuz Azmi, the facilitator and trainer of the day, the session was handed over to Mr Michael Mowinksi, the KUL A-CDM project’s Process and Procedure Development Lead, to provide an in-depth introduction to A-CDM.
In his multi-part presentation, he went through the key lessons learnt from previous A-CDM projects, benefits, as well as impact to operations in principle. This part was summarised with the screening of the first Awareness Video which addresses the “Why” aspect of A-CDM.
After a quick discussion among participants on what they have learned from the first part, they adjourned for a 15 minutes break at the foyer.
In the second part, the participants learned about the objectives, the stakeholders and its functions, and the collaboration requirements before summarising with part 1B of the Awareness Video. The learning was strengthened with a simple ball game which required participants to coordinate and collaborate with each other.
The session then continued with a presentation on the 6 A-CDM Elements and the 16 A-CDM Milestones. The participants’ understanding was tested with a fun and engaging Kahoot game.
Before the session ended, the participants reflected on key takeaways gained during the seminar. The event culminated with the Change Agent Activation which saw each Change Agent recognised on stage via a certificate award ceremony, handed over by their respective A-CDM stakeholder representative.
What’s Next?
The first training for the Change Agents will take place on the 7th and 8th of September 2022. This Change Agent Training aims to train the Change Agents on the core skills to handle the ‘people’ side of change management, as well as to form the Change Agent Network to support project execution.
Details and the agenda of the training session are reflected on the event calendar.
To accommodate the work demands of the Change Agents, a second session is scheduled on the 20th and 21st of September for those who could not make it to the first session.
